Job Posting Rules
Hire freelance graduates and students, get jobs done!
[Back]
- Each job should only be posted once.
- Job posts must be written in English.
- Job postings should be placed in the most appropriate skill category for the vacancy.
- The more details included about the job, the more likely students are to contact you.
- If a student contacts you please respond. You can use the free auto-send facility to inform applicants that they have not been successful if appropriate.
- Jobs should preferably either be 'Paid' or 'Voluntary' for Registered Charities only. 'Unpaid' jobs should be a genuine opportunity for a student or graduate to get worthwhile experience on their CV. Jobs on a 'commission-only' basis are accepted, although the scheme needs to be good to attract students. Studentgems has been set up primarily to enable students to earn money by using their developing skills, whilst enabling employers to save money.
- Jobs and internships must comply with all current employment legislation provisions including the national minimum wage. For a role to be unpaid or expenses only, the student/graduate/intern must be under no obligation to perform work or carry out instructions: they have no contract or formal arrangement and so can come and go as they please; they have no expectation of and do not receive any reward for the work they do. For further information please visit Business Link.
- We do not accept:
- Menial unpaid jobs
- Network marketing or multi-level marketing jobs
- Posts that advertise pyramid selling or multi-level marketing schemes
- Posts for adult industry work
- Posts for escort work
- Posts for medical trials
- Jobs which require students to send money or send a stamped addressed envelope for further details of the work or for training.
- All posted jobs are moderated and any inappropriate jobs will be removed. External contact details become visible to employers who have a current posted job.
- All fields in the 'Post a job' form should be filled out correctly.
- Services which require membership to a governing body or a certificate or licence cannot be carried out by students unless they meet these requirements. If you are posting a job which requires any of these please make it clear in the job post what legal requirements applicants must meet.
- Job posts with links to other sites that offer job posting facilities are not accepted.
- All job posts should meet the guidelines set out by the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
- Agencies must make it clear that they are acting as an agency.
- If you would like to post a job and can't find the skill on our lists, please tell us!
