Rogue traders

Hire freelance graduates and students, get jobs done!

The intention of this website is to provide an open and honest place for students, individuals and businesses to contact each other. Fortunately, most people are genuine and have good intentions. However, there are those who are less scrupulous and leave a bad taste. These ‘rogue traders’ are not welcome here.

Students:

If you have had a bad experience such as the employer has not paid up and you have completed that task fairly and squarely, here’s what you can do:

  • Find out what the problem is to see if it can be rectified
  • Make sure you have exhausted all communication possibilities
  • Leave negative feedback as a warning to others
  • Contact the Small Claims Court for guidance http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk

When you take on a task ensure you have a very clear understanding of what is expected of you. Ask lots of questions so that your end product meets expectations.

Employers:

Once you have agreed a task check that both parties fully understand what is needed and when. Please remember these are students who are learning and developing and may need more guidance than a professional.

If things have gone wrong and the task has not been completed as agreed you have the following options:

  • Explain the problem to see if it can be resolved
  • Give the student every opportunity to put it right
  • Leave negative feedback as a warning to others

Remember! Most people are honest. Students want to earn money and employers are more than willing to pay for a job well done.
