Here are a few things you need to consider...
- Negotiate terms with the employer up front and get everything in writing.
- When quoting, research the professional costs, take into account your own experience and skill level and think about a fair quote to reflect this.
- Make sure you consider your IP rights. If you are required to assign them to the employer (on the understanding you can showcase the work in your portfolio) make sure you are paid first.
- Have your CV ready now; you never know when you may suddenly need it.
