Since watching the extras of the first DVD I ever owned, I have been captivated by film. At the first chance possible, I set the ball rolling by saving the money from my paper-round to buy my first video camera, aged 14. Since its purchase I have not stopped making and studying moving image as part of my education and independently. I now desperately wish to work in the institutions that are behind the construction of this most modern, aware and accessible of the popular arts, and I hope that my career will follow my passion: practical filmmaking.

I have always had a keen eye for photography, colour and the moving image, becoming more cultivated through my studies, so my natural enthusiasm and skill lends me towards the visual side of production. Sensing the momentum and inevitable shift towards digital technology and wanting to be at the forefront of this industry, I am particularly eager to train in the handling of digital imaging and its data.

Throughout my education I have been consistently engaged in short film practice, focusing and enjoying the visual and its manipulation and grading. I have had several of my short films played in the Southampton Picture House and came second place in a national short film competition, having the piece shown at the BFI. My highest grades have always been awarded to the practical element of my various courses and my latest directorial project has been selected for screenings at short film festivals across the globe in London, Brittany and New York, and has won several awards (including Best Film and Best Editing).

My post-production skill includes a high level of proficiency in Final Cut Pro 7, editing my own work using several ProRes codecs and converting to H.264 for distribution. During my recent internship at 4K London I gained experience in the handling of data from Red, Alexa, and Canon 5D cameras and its conversion to various offline packages. The duration of the Internship was extended at 4K’s request reflecting my hard work and ability to learn quickly. I have subsequently been offered an intermittent paid position.

I am currently determinedly searching for junior work experience, including running, in the visual field of Film and TV, hoping to receive hands-on training and to increase my experience. I am extremely driven and have a keen eye for perfection and a strong work ethic. Ultimately I am a fast and incisive learner and would be an asset to any team.
