I am a Photographer/Mixed Media Artist. I have been studding Art and Design from high school to collage to university; I took these courses as I enjoy learning and exploring all the different types and media’s of art. I wanted to gain skills and have more knowledge and experience of all aspects of art, as my passion does not lie in just one area. I enjoy all art media’s but the areas that I enjoy the most are photography, photograms and abstract paintings. Exploring all aspects give a wide range of skills that I can cross over. I take digital and negative photography; I have both SLR cameras. My digital photography is more of objects or surroundings; I enjoy taking natural pictures and enhancing them in Photoshop. I also take pictures at parties and weddings, I am now known as my family’s camera man! Even though I do not do photo shoots for my personal work on request I am able to. My negative images are of trees and buildings. While developing my negatives I add a lot of contrast, as I really like the way detail and texture comes through. My photograms are of branches and leaves, I love the way they create white silhouette’s, sometimes with a little grey shading or detail. With some of my prints I embellish with beads and sequins to take it that one step further, and cross over between darkroom prints and textiles. My paintings are very abstract, I use splatters of paint. I use different colours; sometimes I carry on splattering paint to add layers. I also add glitter, beads and sequins adding these gives texture and am a crossover with painting and textiles. Keeping fit is important to me; I go regularly to the gym and occasionally go swimming. As a pass time I enjoy gardening, listening to music, going cinema and reading about celeb news.
