I am an English Literature student studying at Lancaster University with a love for writing. I'm looking to gain experience and am enthusiastic about taking on new challenges that will help me develop my writing skills and increase my work experience before graduating.
I have had some experience in PR, having spent two weeks with a Communications team for a nation-wide organisation. My time here gave me some experience of what it is for a company to interact with the media. I was also accepted for a six week placement program by the same company, this time working in the Learning and Development department. Here I worked with the direction of the head of the department to re-brand their training presentations, these would then be used in all the company's nation-wide branches. In addition I, working with three other summer placements, worked on a group project aiming to reduce the amount of commercial waste sent off site each year. Time management was key during this time as I needed to complete both my individual and group projects within a limited amount of time.
The main skill I believe I gained from my prior experiences is the ability to work with the employer to produce the best possible end-product.
I achieved two A's at A-Level, in English Language and Literature and History and a B in ICT. This, coupled with my time studying at Lancaster have developed my research skills. I have a basic grasp of HTML and am fluent in Welsh, able to translate from Welsh to English or vice-versa on a basic level.
