About
Personal Statement:
I am motivated to contribute, understand and develop skills in areas that I feel great passion for, specifically, music and the arts. Through education I have learned skills in the fields of music, film and photography. By undertaking A-levels, and Higher Education Studies (Bachelor Hons. Degree at Newcastle University (ongoing)) I have not only honed these skills but also acquired a high level of written and academic understanding. Through supporting myself since the age of 16 via part time work as a lifeguard, leisure attendant and sport tutor, I have came to appreciate financial responsibility and learned many valuable life skills such as taking initiative, working as a team/individual and how to deal with customers. I am highly driven to not only be creative in such art fields, but also reflective and evaluative of myself to create a refined end product, no matter what that product may be.

Experience:
As briefly stated above, since the age of 16 I have worked part time in various leisure facilities in different roles that have provided me with numerous transferable life skills. Through the role of a lifeguard I have been able to learn how to deal with immense responsibility, pressure and with the general public. Working as a team, or an individual sport tutor, I have learned how to take control, listen and respond to those I’m working with. I have taken numerous courses in first aid and customer care. Within the leisure facilities I have also worked admin, retail and stock checking, allowing me to develop basic trade knowledge.
Recently I undertook charity work to create and organize ‘The Christmas Project’, a compilation CD featuring original Christmas songs from acts on the verge of breaking through into the music industry. The project sold out all physical copies both in the UK, and internationally to countries such as Australia and Germany. The project also gained national press recognition and I was invited to London to be interviewed on BBC6Music. The project demonstrates the successes of my organizational and methodical practices and perseverance to not only reach my goal, but to surpass it.
I have written for various websites, magazines and blogs such as Manifesto music magazine and Newcastle Universities Courier. I have contributed various reviews, interviews and articles in a journalistic approach, indicating a high level of written understanding and desire to envelop myself within my passions.
